QUANTUM FOUNDATION: HONOURING THOSE WHO KEEP OUR HISTORY
THE LATE SHRI PRAKASHCHANDRA SURANA HISTORIAN AWARDS 2026
On 27 July, at the Convocation Hall of Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Yerwada, Pune, Quantum Foundation presented the Late Shri Prakashchandra Surana Historian Awards 2026 — an initiative under Project Dharohar, in collaboration with Deccan College.
The awards exist for a reason that is easy to overlook. India does not lack history. It lacks people willing to spend a lifetime protecting it, and recognition for those who do.

🏆 Senior Historian Award — Muhammed KK
Former Regional Director, Archaeological Survey of India. A renowned archaeologist and heritage conservationist with over four decades of experience in excavation, restoration, and preservation of India’s historic monuments, including Sanchi, Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Red Fort, and Fatehpur Sikri. Author of “An Indian I Am.”
🏆 Digital Historian Award — Anirudh Kanisetti
Public historian, author, and speaker specialising in the political, cultural, and commercial history of early medieval South India. Author of “Lords of the Deccan” and “Lords of Earth and Sea,” and recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar.
Project Dharohar is Quantum Foundation’s initiative dedicated to honouring history and inspiring tomorrow’s generations to value and protect India’s heritage.

IN THE NEWS
The Historian Awards carried beyond the hall. Ahead of the ceremony and in the days after, the announcement and the event were covered across Pune’s English, Marathi and Hindi press — among them The Times of India, Sakal, Maharashtra Times, Lokmat, Pudhari, Dainik Bhaskar and Nandini.

Coverage led with the recipients — Shri K.K. Muhammed, described by The Times of India as an eminent archaeologist and former regional director of the Archaeological Survey of India, and historian and author Anirudh Kanisetti — and with the awards’ purpose: recognising contributions to history.

For a foundation whose work is preserving public memory, being written about in the public record is not a vanity metric. It is the work continuing by other means.

INDUSTRY INSIGHT
Leadership Isn’t About Authority. It’s About What Outlives You.
In today’s fast-changing world, organisations often invest in technology, processes, and innovation to stay competitive. Yet, one factor continues to determine long-term success more than any other—people.
The strongest organisations are built by leaders who do more than achieve business results. They create environments where individuals grow, collaborate, innovate, and inspire others to perform at their best.
This month’s learning initiatives reflected that belief. From empowering educators to mentor future generations, to strengthening leadership capabilities in manufacturing and enhancing communication in the IT sector, every programme shared a common objective: developing people who can create meaningful and lasting impact.
Leadership is not defined by a designation or years of experience. It is reflected in the ability to influence with purpose, communicate with clarity, and build teams that thrive even in the face of change.
In an era where technical skills can be learned quickly, qualities such as emotional intelligence, accountability, adaptability, and collaboration have become the true differentiators of exceptional leaders.
At Quantum, we believe that every learning experience should do more than transfer knowledge—it should inspire action, encourage reflection, and empower individuals to lead with confidence.
The Final Thought
The most valuable legacy a leader leaves behind is not a completed project or an impressive title. It is the people they have developed, the confidence they have instilled, and the culture they have helped create.
Because when learning becomes a habit and leadership becomes a responsibility, organisations don’t just grow—they create a lasting impact that extends far beyond the workplace. Learn with Purpose. Lead with Integrity. Leave a Legacy.
L& D TRUTH: THE ROI CONVERSATION
- Week 1 – ” Can training improve communication?”
- Week 2 – ” Can i t improve productivity too?”
- Week 3 – ” Can i t change the culture?”
- Week 4 – ” Can you do all of this in one day?”
If only transformation came with a fast- forward button. Real learning takes practice, reinforcement, and leadership support. That’ s how lasting change happens.

YOUR ORGANISATION’S QUESTION:
Are you training your leaders in techniques, or in the judgement that decides when to use them? Do your development programmes build character alongside capability — or do they assume character arrives on its own?
WHAT’S NEXT?
Three ways to engage with the Quantum Group:
- SHARE YOUR CHALLENGE
A capability gap in your organisation? Tell us. We’ll help you close it.
- BOOK A CAPABILITIES AUDIT
Let’s assess where your team stands and build a roadmap from there.
- SUPPORT PROJECT DHAROHAR
Quantum Foundation’s work in preserving India’s historical record continues. Partner with us, or nominate a historian for next year’s awards.
See you next month for Issue #3 (August 2026), where we’ll cover the month’s trainings, celebrate more team milestones, and continue the conversation on what capability really costs to build.
